Nicole Richie will offer her design knowledge in an upcoming show called Fashion Star. The show will air on NBC and be hosted by Elle MacPherson. Richie will join Jessica Simpson and John Varvatos as a celebrity mentor.

"Jessica, Nicole, John and Elle make the most exciting team we have ever worked with on a reality television show and we are thrilled to feature such an extraordinary group of mentors and designers," Fashion Star's executive producer (Ben Silverman) told Us Weekly.

She’s helped teens dress for prom, and now, she’ll be helping them dress for everyday life! Jessica Simpson is teaming up with little sis Ashlee Simpson to create a line of tween apparel as part of the Jessica Simpson Collection, according to WWD.

The new products, available in stores in fall, will be geared to the fashion-forward tween and will feature sportswear, denim and activewear styled after Simpson’s “girly, playful attitude,” the trade mag reports.

Knit tops, hoodies, pullovers, striped shrunken knits, graphic T-shirts, drawstring pants, footwear and outerwear will all be part of the collection, with both Jessica and Ashlee serving as co-creative directors for the line.
”Creating a tween apparel collection was a natural extension for the brand,” Jessica tells WWD.

“I’m excited to bring my sister, Ashlee, along as co-creative director of this division, because she brings a savvy rocker edge that defines today’s tweens.”
Ashlee, who has always been a big supporter of her big sis’s empire, agrees. “My goal as co-creative director will be to design clothes that will help inspire young girls to express their personalities and creativity through fashion.”

This marks the first time the sisters are collaborating on a fashion venture.

Paying a visit to their lawyer’s office, Jessica Simpson and Ashlee Simpson were spotted out in Century City, California yesterday afternoon (May 25).

The pop singing pair were joined by their mother Tina as they attended what ended up being a 9-hour-long meeting.

Closing out another week with a relaxing midday outing, Jessica Simpson was spotted making her way around New York City on Friday afternoon (May 20).

The "Dukes of Hazzard" darling was looking her usual stylish self as she made her way over to the popular SoHo eatery Balthazar to chow down on lunch with a group of friends.

Gathering together over the holiday weekend for a family photo shoot, Jessica Simpson and Ashlee Simpson joined forces in Beverly Hills, CA on Saturday afternoon (May 7).

The Simpson sisters were joined by Jessica's fiance, Eric Johnson, as well as Ashlee's young son, Bronx, while heading inside to pose for a round off Mother's Day weekend portraits.

She may not have found a wedding dress yet, but Jessica Simpson can cross another important item off her to-do list: setting her wedding date!

"I'm still trying to figure out what to wear! I don't know if I want the big boom, or the curvy thing, but it will be something beautiful," the Style Icon of the Year said at Us Weekly's Hot Hollywood party at L.A's Eden on Tuesday. "I kind of have a couple ideas in my head, and I have a date; I'm really excited!"

Engaged to former NFL player and Yale grad Eric Johnson, 33, since November, the 30-year-old singer -- clad in an Etro dress and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes -- told Us she isn't worried about slimming down before the big day.

"I just have to work out on my own. There is no regimen I need to follow. There's no diet I need to follow. I just need to do some things for myself and that's it. And that will make me feel the happiest," the once-divorced star said. "No exercise is fun! I am going to dance around my bedroom and hopefully lose some weight -- and lift some weights and do what I can!"

Joined by her fiance Eric Johnson, the “Come On Over” songstress looked fabulous in a green jacket with distressed jeans and an animal print handbag.

Jessica Simpson and fiance Eric Johnson were recently snapped at a slew of boutiques in London and Paris. A wedding dress hunt? Nope! Simpson -- Us Weekly's Style Icon of the Year, who heads her own wildly successful fashion line -- was "inspiration shopping for the collection," the superstar, 30, tells Us exclusively in the new issue. "I have the best job in the world!"

Simpson's labor of love has paid off: The Jessica Simpson brand has raked in $750 million in 35 countries!

And the singer, actress and reality star is completely hands-on with the creation of her chic but affordable line. "I'm in the workroom in [L.A.'s] Westwood a few times a week from 11 to 7 at night," she tells Us.

"Nothing goes out without me seeing it or my mom [Tina Simpson, cocreative director] seeing it," Simpson explains.

Working with Mama Tina, she says, is ideal -- and brutally honest! "We really know so much about each other and share so much," she says. "And we keep everything extremely truthful. If I walked in wearing something she didn't like, she would tell me. And I would tell her! Like, 'What the hell are you wearing?'"

Part of her current fashion success means a break from Simpson's Hollywood career, she admits. "This year, I've taken time for myself to enjoy being engaged and in love and being a businesswoman instead of an entertainer,"she says. "It's really helped the collection!"

About that engagement....

"I'm still trying to figure out what we're going to do about all of the plans," she says, adding that she be be "involved" in designing her gown.

"We have four dates floating around...It's going to end up being big!"
